The veterans of Centralia VFW Chapter 6276 are working to help their fellow veterans as well as the patients of the Missouri Veterans Hospital.
They are hosting a golf tournament, 9 a.m. Saturday Aug. 17 at the Centralia Community Golf Course.

Ed Torreyson, along with Dennis Mills, speaking to nearly 20 members of the Centralia Kiwanis Club, the tournament would be a good time for golfers and non-golfers.
“It’s an 18-hole, two-person, alternating shot, one bag of golf clubs, you and your partner get to have six golf-clubs, that’s all you can have in your bag to play your golf with,” Torreyson said. ”It will probably help some peoples’ games but may hinder some others’.”
