Hundreds lose power
Approximately 500 homes lost power over the New Year’s weekend in Centralia.
Ice and fallen tree-limbs were the culprit, said Heather Russell, Centralia city administrator.
It all began within two hours of the beginning of the new year, she said.
“It began early Friday morning. We received the first outage call, 1:11 a.m., Friday January 1,” Russell said. “From the city’s perspective, the outages are ongoing as long as there is still ice on the lines and tree limbs falling on them we will continue to have outages. If your power goes citizens should call 682-2139.”
