The first annual “Cops-N-Bobbers,” event, sponsored by Centralia Back the Blue, the Centralia Police Department and other area law-enforcement agencies has been rescheduled for August 22, at the east Pond at the Centralia City Park.
Formerly scheduled for the first weekend in May, offers, said CPD officer Logan Feger, “children and their parents the opportunity to enjoy a free day of fishing with local law enforcement officers. Cops-N-Bobbers allows local children to have a positive experience with law enforcement officers and to learn a recreational pastime that they can enjoy for the rest of their lives.”
Feger and fellow CPD officer David Davenport started the program and this is its first year. It is open to children ages 4-13 and their parents.
Centralia Backs the Blue will sponsor the event, they said, along with the other members of law enforcement and emergency services.
