A pair of unanimous votes by the full Centralia R-VI School Board touched on the short- and long-term futures of the districts’ students.
• Moving the Champion Academy away from hour and semester based class completion system to one that is proficiency-based, which board members and Stephen Chancellor said will enable the academy to serve more students.
• The first of steps toward possible starting a separate education foundation to handle the scholarship funds collected and disbursed by the district.
