Donald Cecil Secrist

Donald Cecil Secrist, 91 of Centralia passed away Tuesday, August 27, 2024, at Boone Hospital Center in Columbia.

Family and friends are invited to Don’s Life Celebration Service 11:00 AM Friday, August 30, 2024, at the Centralia Church of Christ, with burial to follow in the Glendale Memorial Gardens in Centralia.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until the time of the service Friday at the church.

Don was born on December 13, 1932, in New Hampton, IA the son of Cecil and Evelyn (Moetsch) Secrist.

After Don graduated high school in Iowa, he was drafted into the United States Army, serving 2 years and 18 months in Korea with the 26th Infantry Scout Division Platoon.

After returning home from the service, Don went to work at A.B. Chance Company, where he worked for 43 years.

On June 2, 1955, Don married Virginia Boucher at the Church of Christ in Centralia, and she survives.

Along with his wife Virginia, Don is survived by his daughter, Cheryl Jennings and husband Terry of Centralia; brother, Wendell Secrist and wife Gwen of Maple Valley, WA, Joanne Sparks of Long View, TX, Janice Robison of Benton City, and Lori Hoffman and husband Bill of Centralia.

Don was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother, Gerald Secrist.

Gardening, remodeling homes, camping, and attending the State Fair were things that Don enjoyed, but he truly loved Machine Quilting, he would do a quilt a day for as long as he was able.

Don was a member of the Centralia Church of Christ.
