Doris E. (Dawson) (Dorr) Cooper, 97 of Centralia, MO died Tuesday, April 23, 2024, at The Bluffs in Columbia.
Family and Friends are invited to Doris’ Life Celebration service at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, April 30, 2024, at the First Baptist Church with burial to follow at the Centralia City Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 1:00 PM until the time of service at the First Baptist Church.
Doris was born on December 24, 1926, in Bevier, MO, the daughter of John G. and Rosa (Dohring) Dawson.
Doris was a graduate of Bevier High School. She married Edward F. Dorr on October 22, 1945.
In 1978 Edward preceded her in death. On December 28, 1984, she married Ellis Cooper who also preceded her in death.
Doris grew up on the family farm in Bevier, MO. After high school she completed two years at Chillicothe Business School and Beautician school in the Quad Cities. Over the course of her life she lived in various cities throughout Missouri, including Centralia, Columbia, Lancaster and Calhoun.
Doris was a Godly woman who was an active member of the First Baptist Church in Centralia, MO.
Doris was also a dedicated homemaker. She loved taking care of and spending time with her family.
Doris was preceded in death by her parents; both of her husbands; a brother, Dean Dawson; and a sister, Edith (Dawson) Metternick.
Doris is survived by her children, Rodney Dorr (Geneva) of Maysville, MO, Terry Dorr (Jeanne) of Galena, MO, Gary Dorr (Sandra) of Centralia, MO; 9 Grandchildren; 26 Great-grandchildren; and 1 Great-great-grandchild.
In Lieu of flowers memorial donations are suggested to the First Baptist Church of Centralia and may be sent in care of Fenton-Kendrick Funeral Home, 104 S. Collier Centralia, MO 65240.
