Cooks from around the Midwest will be on hand for the featured event at the 2013 Anchor City Cook Off. The KCBS (Kansas City Barbeque Society) contest will feature four categories including Chicken, Pork Ribs, Pork and Beef Brisket. There are cash prizes for the first 5 places and Grand Champion and Reserve Champion. Custom made trophies will be given to the first place winner in each category, Grand Champion and Reserve Champion. The pay outs for each category are 1st $250, 2nd $200, 3rd place $150, 4th $100, 5th place $75, Grand Champion $1,000, Reserve Champion $500. All KCBS rules apply. Judging will be done by KCBS-certified judges. Turn in will be at Friendship Place. Chicken is at Noon, pork ribs at 12:30 p.m., pork at 1 p.m. and beef brisket at 1:30 p.m.
