The now 4-1 Hallsville Indians boys basketball team beat the visiting North Callaway Thunderbirds 82-71, Tuesday night in Hallsville.
The Lady Indians won their varsity match, 64-30.
The boys game was a clinic in comeback basketball.
The Indians started slow and finished the first quarter down, with nine points to North Callaway’s 15. They turned on the gas though in the second and went into halftime winning the game 33-30.
There was a lot of back and forth in the third, but Hallsville kept the lead, leading 54-53 going into the fourth.
They took over in the fourth and finished 82-71.
Jaylen George led
Hallsville with 23 points. AJ Austene scored 16 and Matt Faber, 15.
Cody Cash led North Callaway with a game-high 30 points.
On the girls side, Emily Leer led the varsity ladies with a game-high 21 points, Avery Oetting scored 19 and Lauren Proctor – 11.
McKenna Allen led North Callaway with 11.
They dominated all four quarters leading 20-4 in the first; 42-19 in the second; 59-26 in the third and finished 64-30.
The varsity Lady Indians are not 6-2.
The Lady Indians won the junior varsity contest, 40-13.
