Hallsville beats Macon in the first round

The 67th Annual Centralia Invitational Tournament started with the #1 seeded Centralia Lady Panthers taking on the #8 seeded Van Far Lady Indians. The Lady Panthers got off to a hot start with a commanding 19-6 lead at the end of quarter one.
Morgan Ross led the scoring with 6 first quarter points and another 10 in the second.
Harper Sonetheimer also had a hot hand putting down 4 while Raegan Anderson and Braylin Brunkhorst added 3-pointers.

The Lady Panthers saw a 44-10 halftime lead going to the locker room. Anderson answered the call again in the third with 5 of the 14 Centralia points and a 58-20 lead after three putting Van Far in the running mercy clock for the fourth.
The Lady Panthers took the first game of the night in a lop-sided 66-20 rout of the Lady Indians. Morgan Ross led scoring with 16, Braylin Brunkhorst had 14 and Raegan Anderson 11. Centralia will take on Harrisburg at 6 pm Wednesday evening. Hallsville’s Lady Indians took the court for the third game of the night against the Tigerettes from Macon. Kristen Jones took advantage of her opportunities hitting three 3-pointers in the first quarter. Hallsville led 14 to 2 after one and Jones put 6 more in the second with Haley Hagen getting 7 of her own. Hallsville would head to the locker room with a 25-13 halftime lead. Madysen Lucas and Clara Quintana came off the bench to drain 3’s for the Lady Indians. Macon was strong in the third however, cutting that lead down by outsourcing Hallsville 12 to 6 in the third making it a 6 point game. Briley Bower came off the bench in the fourth with a 3 to start the Hallsville scoring. Madsysen Lucas again drained a 3, bolstering a 42-32 lead and not allowing the Tigerettes to get any closer than 6 points down. Hallsville finished the night 43-36 and will advance to face Salisbury at 7:30 Wednesday night. If each team advances on Wednesday we’ll see the Lady Panthers taking on the Lady Indians for the championship game on Friday night.
