Centralia sending big crew to state championships

Posted on Sunday, May 21, 2023 at 7:23 pm

Listen below to Centralia Panthers Head Track and Field Coach Ben Sontheimer discuss Centralia’s performance at Sectionals, where the girls team qualified five in the individual events and three relay teams. The boys qualified four in the individual events and one relay. For more, see the upcoming edition of the Centralia Fireside Guard.

Due to technical difficulties, the portion of the interview where Sontheimer discussed Panther  hurdler and sprinter Cayden Dunn, who qualified for state in the 110- and 300-hurdles, which Dunn won, was lost.

Sontheimer complimented Dunn’s work ethic, athleticism and hurdling form, describing him as “one of those athletes who comes to practice early and stays late. He runs the hurdles aggressively and is very coachable.”
