Geraldine “Gerri” M. Beard

Geraldine “Gerri” M. Beard, age 93, of Laurie, Missouri, passed away Tuesday, June 21, 2022, at her home.  She was born June 11, 1929, in Gerald, Missouri, daughter of the late John Henry and Eugenia Maude (Ogg) Grob.

On January 25, 1958, in St. Louis, she was united in marriage to Raymond W. Beard, who preceded her in death on February 1, 2009.

Gerri lived in Centralia for forty years, the Kirksville area for eleven years and retired to the Lake of the Ozarks.  She worked at the Westside Senior Center in Laurie for many years.  Gerri was a member of the West Lake Christian Church and also attended Crossroads Assembly of God Church.  She was an active member of her churches, community and cancer support group.

She is survived by her children, Karen Swanson and husband Terry of Yorkville, Illinois, Gail Renick of Laurie, Missouri, Gena Davidson and husband Carl of St. Louis, Missouri, Brenda Bell of Columbia, Missouri and Angela Beard of Laurie, Missouri; step-children, Ray Beard, Debbie McQuaid, Sandi Beard and Vicky Koonley; grandchildren, Tim Swanson and wife Tammy, Shawn Reynolds and wife Cheryl, Michelle Howell and husband Brian, Melanie Stinson and husband Brad, Andrew Prewett and wife Allyson, Alan Davidson and wife Cheryl, Zach Davidson and wife April, Adam Rievley, Erin Raleigh and husband D.J., Amy Rievley, Cheryl Kirby and husband Chris, Julie Hampton and husband Shawn, Lester Cornelius and husband Chris, Jeremy Hoskins and wife Jen and Lauren Barry; thirty-seven great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren with one on the way and many other relatives and friends.  In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Jeanne Sudholt, Charles Grob and Thelma Boice and her grandchildren, Michelle Salzkorn, Jonathan Rievley and Anthony Tyne.

A celebration of Gerri’s life will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, June 28th, at the West Lake Christian Church in Laurie with the Reverends Chance McMullin and Kevin Hauk officiating.  The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m., at the church.

A private graveside service will be held with Reverend Kevin Hauk officiating.  A visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 29th, at Rocky Fork Fellowship, 12095 Route B, Hallsville, Missouri 65255.

Memorial contributions are suggested to the West Lake Christian Church, Crossroads Assembly of God Church, the American Cancer Society or Lake Regional Hospice.
