John L. “Johnny” Bowers, 83, Barnett, MO passed away Wednesday, March 15, 2023, at his home surrounded by his family. He was born December 4, 1939, the son of the late Lloyd and Versia Mae (Bradley) Bowers. He first was united in marriage to Linda Jean White who preceded him in death. Later on April 4, 2015 he was united in marriage to Betty Lou (Love) Bowers.
He will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his wife Betty Lou, one daughter Cindy Walker and her husband Doug of Centralia, MO; two step daughters Cindy King and her husband Joe of Jefferson City,, MO and Mary Carpenter and her husband Doug of Jefferson City, MO; one stepson James Frisbie and his wife Heather of Manhattan, KS; a aunt Gertie Rufkahr of Moberly, MO; ten grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; other relatives and many dear friends. In addition to his parents, and first wife, a son Marc Bowers and a stepson Michael Frisbie preceded him in death.
Johnny served his country in the United States Army. He worked as a maintenance mechanic for A.B. Chance Co in Centralia, MO for many years. He attended Mt. Carmel Church in Lake Ozark, MO and enjoyed woodworking, fishing, hunting golf and playing cards. He loved travelling to Texas for the winter and spending time with his friends and family.
A graveside service will be 1:30 pm on Saturday, March 25, 2023, at the Perche Cemetery near Clark, MO. Visitation will be from 11:00 am until 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 25, 2023, at the Oliver Funeral Home in Centralia, MO.
