Lila Mae Gray, 77 of Clark, died Saturday July 30, 2022, at the Aspire Health and Rehab in Moberly.
Lila’s Life Celebration Memorial Service will be held 1:00 PM, Sunday, August 21, 2022, at the Sunnydale
Seventh Day Adventist Church in Centralia, MO. There will be a fellowship meal for family and friends to follow after the service.
Lila was born on September 8, 1944, in St. Joseph, Michigan, the daughter of Stanley and Ruby (Horton)
Krause.
In April of 1973 Lila married Paul Gray, who survives of the home. Along with her husband, Paul, Lila is survived by a son, Paul Andrew Gray and wife Natasha of Columbia; grandchildren, Anastasia and Tristan Gray; Siblings, Marshall Krause and wife Pat of Marshall, MO; Carolyn Bright of Suffolk, VA; and church sister, Delores Stabenow of Moberly, MO.
Lila was preceded in death by her parents, a son, Matthew Gray, and several siblings. Lila worked as a nurse for the majority of her life. She went through a 3 year nursing program in Lincoln NE, where she met Paul while working as a literature evangelist for the Seventh Day Adventist Church. She was a devout member of Sunnydale Seventh Day Adventist Church and was active for many years.
Above all else Lila would have it said that she loved her Lord Jesus Christ and placed her hope of salvation in Him. She looked forward to meeting Him on the resurrection day, as well as being reunited with her loved ones. She was a fierce protector of her friends and family. Her life was spent in service to her God, family, friends, and others. She loved to raise flowers and gained much joy from her flower beds. Lila was an efficient cook who believed food should be plentiful, taste good, and not be overly burdensome to make. She was generous beyond what people knew as she didn’t want recognition. In later years her health kept her from much of the life she loved to live, but she held firm to her hope of a life made new in her savior Jesus Christ. She will be greatly missed by all of those who knew and loved her. Peter Van Kort in particular will miss her and her casseroles.
