Marilyn Kay Vaught

Marilyn Kay Vaught, 81 of Columbia died Saturday, November 26, 2022, at University Hospital and Clinics in Columbia.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday, November 29, 2022 at Sunnydale Seventh Day Adventist Church in Centralia with burial to follow in Mt. Horeb Cemetery in Sturgeon.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 am until the time of the service on Tuesday at the church.

Marilyn was born on May 22, 1941, in Bloomington, IN the daughter of Oscar and Helen (Johnston) Hawkins.

On June 3, 1967, Marilyn married Robert L. Vaught, and he preceded her in death on March 7, 1988.

Marilyn is survived by her children, Richard Vaught (Patricia) of Springfield, Sandy Dority (Victor) of Columbia, Edward “Ed” Vaught (Penny), daughter-in-law, Terry Vaught, Ronald Vaught of Milan, James Vaught (Beth) of Alabama; 13 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren; four sisters.

Along with her husband, Marilyn was preceded in death by a son, Wayne Vaught, her parents, one sister, and two brothers.

Marilyn was a member of Sunnydale Seventh Day Adventist Church, she enjoyed reading and studying the bible with her friends, playing bingo, and cards with the ladies at the Bluffs. Marilyn, liked listening to hymns, eating cornbread, and especially loved spending time with her family.

Memorial donations are suggested to the Parkinson’s Foundation and may be sent in care of Fenton-Kendrick Funeral Home, 104 S. Collier St. Centralia, MO 65240.
