The Sturgeon R-V Board of Education has a few new faces.

The evening of April 13 Kenneth Ladyman and Dean Jones were sworn in as the newest members of the board of education. Also sworn in was incumbent board member Ben Pollock.

Pollock and Ladyman won three-year terms in the April 5 election, Jones a one-year term.

Ladyman and Jones replaced former members Kevin Smith and Jill Halliburton.

Misty Doss was re-elected as board president, Denise Flaspohler, as vice president; Bethany Stone as treasurer and Peggy Leerhoff was reappointed as board secretary. R-V Superintendent Melia Franklin updated the board on changes coming to the district’s school breakfast and lunch program, which has been free for the last two years courtesy of the Federal government’s pandemic, American Rescue Plan, funding. That funding was called the Seamless Summer Option and it ends this June. She presented the new prices, which the board unanimously approved:

• Kindergarten through eighth-grade lunch: $2.65

• ninth through 12 lunch: $2.90

• all students breakfast: $1.70

• Adult breakfast: $2

• Adult lunch: $3.65
