I don’t like change!     Do you like change? I sure don’t. I just would be comfortable with no changes. Our school class will celebrate 50 years this year and the changes that have taken place in 50 years are mind blowing.

The fact is, even though I don’t like change, change is a part of life. Many times changes are so subtle that we don’t even realize a change has transpired. In the midst of the pain of change, there is one thing that we rely upon.

God doesn’t change. When ships are sinking all around us and changes are happening faster than we can keep up, we have an assurance that God has not changed.

God is still a God of love and mercy. God is still a God that requires justice. God is still a God that knows better than we do what we need. God is all knowing. God is everywhere.

God is all powerful. God has not changed His Holy Word, the Bible.  One of the ironies of the fact that God does not change is that only God can bring about a change in our hearts and minds that would cause us to move toward Him and to seek after Him and to desire to know Him.

So even though God does not change, He brings about tremendous changes in our understanding, in our ability to obey Him and in the strength we need to fulfill His purposes in our lives. Even though…
