James Bernie “Jim” Ashmead, 59 of Centralia died Sunday, September 3, 2023 at the University of Missouri Hospital in Columbia.

Jim was born on May 8, 1964 in Mexico, the son of Eddy and Phyllis (McPike) Ashmead.
He is survived by his mother, Phyllis Ashmead of Centralia, his sisters, Melody Dawson and husband Richard of Centralia, Molly Dawson and husband Kenneth of Centralia, Kathy Umstattd and husband Dean of Fayette, Kristy Thurman and husband Troy of Boonville; many nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Jim was preceded in death by his father, Eddy Ashmead.
He enjoyed fishing, hunting, cooking, listening to country music, and watching sports, especially football.
