Hallsville wins 63-38

Hallsville’s Lady Indians have advanced to the championship game of the district championships.

“Of course we wanted to win. But to beat a team of Macon’s quality, by that amount,” Hallsville Lady Indians Head Coach Matt Heet said of the 63-38 win, “that was not in the plan.”

Hallsville led all four quarters: 14-8 in the first, 33-16 at halftime and 50-28 starting the fourth.

The Lady Indians had four player score in double digits.

Chloe Quintana, Kristen Jones and Haley Hagan scored 11 and Avery Oetting scored 10.

Oetting surpassed the 1,500-career point mark during the game.

Lexi Miller led Macon, and the game, with 20 points.

Hallsville plays Kirksville for the District 8 championship, 6 p.m., Friday, March 4 at Centralia High School.
