Larry Eugene Wells, age 80, of Sturgeon, Missouri, passed away on Monday, March 18, 2024, at his home, surrounded by his family. He was born February 4, 1944 in Howard County, Missouri to William and Mary Wells. He was married to Drucilla (Dru) Williamson on February 14, 1975 in Auxvasse, Missouri and she survives at their home.
Larry was a 1962 graduate of Fayette High School. After graduation, he went on to serve his country in the United States Army. Larry worked as an Assistant Manager for Nowells in Columbia, Missouri before purchasing his own grocery store in Sturgeon in 1987. He and Dru ran a successful business until his retirement in 2006. During his free time he enjoyed hunting, fishing and most of all, his B-17’s.
He is survived by his children, Stacey, Shawn and wife Larra; his grandchildren, Chelsea and husband Adam, Rex, Cal, Alex and Carter; his great-grandchildren, Eli, Liam, Layla and Amelia as well as his siblings, David, Robert and Mary Kay. He was preceded in death by his parents and his beautiful granddaughter, Gabrielle.
A Graveside Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 pm, Friday, March 22, 2024 at Missouri State Veterans Cemetery with Bruce Caldwell officiating. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the Harry S Truman Veterans Hospital or Welcome Home, a community for Veterans.
