Lena Rose Dollens, 82, of Thompson, passed away on Monday, May 27, 2024, at her home.
Funeral Services will be at 1 p.m. on Saturday, June 1, at Pickering Funeral Home with Mike Perry officiating. Burial will follow in East Lawn Memorial Park.
Visitation is Friday from 5-7 p.m. at the funeral home.
Lena Rose was born on October 14, 1941, in Mexico, the daughter of Carl and Isabel (Dawson) Berrey. On June 22, 1963, at Kentucky Road Christian Church in Mexico, she married John F. Dollens. He passed away on June 1, 1995.
Mrs. Dollens was a graduate of Paris High School. She was a housewife and helped her husband, John, with the farm.
Lena Rose was a member of Salt River Christian Church, where she had served as secretary, treasurer and taught Sunday school. Church was a huge part of her life. She played the piano for many funerals and weddings and was very active with 4-H. Mrs. Dollens loved her family dearly, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include one son, Carl (Lisa) Dollens of Centralia; one daughter, Brenda (Doug) Cruise of Thompson; eight grandchildren, Zach Morse, Mark (Amanda) Morse, Alix (Dale) West, Kaitlyn (Jason) Herron, Aleigha Dollens, Breanna Dollens, Kevin (Kelly) Cruise and Kathy Cruise; and nine great-grandchildren, Charlene Morse, Holden Morse, Jackson Morse, Emmett Morse, Liam Dollens-Sweeney, Jon Herron, Anna West, Evelyn Cruise and Elaina Cruise.
In addition to her husband, John, Lena Rose was preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Isabel Berrey.
