Mary B. Bagley, age 100, of Centralia, Missouri departed this life on Sunday, November 26, 2023, at Carroll House in Carrollton, Missouri to be with her Lord in Savior, Jesus Christ.

Born at her parent’s home on February 14, 1923, in Centralia, Missouri, Mary was born to James Burgess and Mary Ann (Mize) Martin.

Mary was a young girl when her father passed away. She was sent to an orphanage by her mother due to the challenges of raising a family as a widow. Mary was able to reconnect with her mom in her teenage years with the help of the lady that cared for her.  The orphanage was located in the town of Carrollton. Ironically, Carrollton is where Mary spent her final nine months at the Carroll House Nursing Home when her primary caregiver and son, Don, passed away in February.

Mary and J.W. Bagley were united in marriage on June 17, 1939. To this union, they were blessed with two children, Billy Lee and Donald David.  Mary was a devoted homemaker. Caring for her two children and the home is something that she took great pride in. Mary was an excellent cook and making pies was her specialty.

Mary cherished reading the bible, praying faithfully every day and attending Church services on Sunday. She was a long-standing member for many decades. Mary’s faith defined her life and carried her through many obstacles. She was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church in Centralia, Missouri. Mary volunteered her time at the local nursing home, served as the Oat’s Bus Coordinator, volunteered as a member of the Women’s Missionary Union of the First Baptist Church and was active in the Historical Society of Missouri.

Mary is survived by her daughter-in-law, Shirley Bagley of Sanford, Florida; grandchildren, Susan Bagley of Deltona, Florida, Michael Bagley of Mt. Airy, North Carolina, David Bagley (Keri) of Prattville, Alabama, J Bagley (Beth) of Pearland, Texas, Kevin Bagley (Lisa) of Aurora, Colorado, Marc Bagley (Marnae) of Carrollton, Missouri, Les (Wally) Bagley (Julie) of Thornton, Colorado; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Mary was preceded in death by her husband, J.W. (1-12-1997); two sons, Billy (1-29-2022) and Donald (2-23-2023); one daughter-in-law, Patricia Bagley (4-14-2019); one granddaughter, Dianne (1-31-2021); one sister, Letha, and one brother, Lawrence.

Visitation will be held at 12:30 p.m. Saturday, December 2, 2023, at Fenton-Kendrick Funeral Home in Centralia, Missouri.

Funeral services will follow visitation starting at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home with Ken Greimann officiating. Burial will be at Glendale Cemetery in Centralia, Missouri.
