Mary Josephine “Josie” Hudson, 100 of Columbia, formerly of Centralia, passed away Wednesday, February 22, 2023, at the Lenoir Woods Care Center in Columbia.
Graveside services will be held 2:00 PM Wednesday, March 1, 2023, at Glendale Memorial Gardens in Centralia.
Family and friends are invited to Josephine’s Life Celebration at a visitation from 1:00-2:00 PM Wednesday, March 1, 2023, at Fenton-Kendrick Funeral Home in Centralia.
Josephine was born on September4, 1922 in Clinton, MO the daughter of Joseph Wright and Lillie Mae (Kaiser) Lawson.
On June 8, 1941, in Keytesville, MO, Josephine married Charles Leon Hudson, and he preceded her in death on August 31, 2005.
Josephine is survived by a daughter, Mary Green of Centralia; granddaughter, Lindsey Ward of Centralia, great-grandchildren, Sean Ward and wife Becca of Jacksonville, NC, Caitlin Josephine Ward of Centralia, Joseph Ward of Duxbury, MA.
Along with her husband, Leon, Josephine was preceded in death by her parents, and Milton and Nancy Boyd who raised Josephine from a young age and her 6 siblings.
Josephine was a long time member of the First Baptist Church in Centralia, where she was very active in teaching Sunday school and assisting in any way she could.
She enjoyed quilting, gardening, and flowers. Most of all Josephine was a devout Christian, who loved the Lord and loved serving others and helping anyone she could.
