Melinda Sue Morrow, 52 of Centralia, passed away Saturday, September 30, 2023, at her home surrounded by her family.

Family and friends are invited to Melinda’s Life Celebration 3:00 PM Saturday, October 7, 2023, at the First Baptist Church, 101 S. Collier St. Centralia, MO, 65240.

Melinda was born on July 28, 1971, in Silvis, IL the daughter of Danny King and Rita McGrath.

Melinda was adopted and raised by Randy Gosney and her mother Rita McGrath.

On December 9, 1995, in Silvis, IL, Melinda married Leroy Morrow.

Along with her husband, Leroy, Melinda is survived by her mother, Rita McGrath of Milan, IL, her children, Katelyn Snell of Hallsville, Caleb Morrow of Jefferson City, and Abigail Morrow of Centralia, her sister, Rebecca Long of Fruitland, ID.

Melinda was preceded in death by her father, Randy Gosney, and her grandparents, Johnny and Betty McGrath.

Melinda was a member of the First Baptist Church in Centralia. She received an Associates Early Childhood Development from MACC and had worked for the Centralia Public Schools as a Paraprofessional and as a School Crossing Guard for the last 11 years.

Melinda loved spending time and visiting with her children. She also really enjoyed cultivating, unique plants that others would not do.

She was giving, mindful of others, quirky, eclectic and always coming up with new ideas and plans.

Melinda was the pillar of her family; she kept up with all her children and their lives she paved the path of communication and always strived to find connections and positives in everything she did. Melinda was always willing to lend a hand, a listening ear, or encouragement when needed. She was an important part of her community, and enjoyed building bonds with the teachers she worked with and the students she would help across the road, rain or shine.

Memorial donations are suggested to the Mexico Animal Shelter or the American Cancer Society and may be sent in care of Fenton-Kendrick Funeral Home, 104 S. Collier St. Centralia, MO 65240.
