Novel Coronavirus found in Missouri

Mexico Veterans’ Home self-quarantines until further notice

The virus has landed.

Governor Mike Parson announced Saturday at a press conference that a “presumptive positive” case of COVID-19, AKA the Coronavirus had been  found in St. Louis County.

Local reaction began Sunday as family and guardians of the residents of the Missouri Veterans home in Mexico received a phone call saying the 150-bed facility had instituted a self quarantine until further notice.

The note taped to the facility’s front door, reads, in part:

“Therefore, in an effort to prevent further spread of the disease, no visitors are allowed to enter this facility until further notice.”
