Pair injured in auto accident north of Sturgeon

A pair of people were injured in a single-vehicle accident north-west of Sturgeon 12:40 p.m., Thursday, April 23.

A green, 1997 Chevrolet Silverado, driven by Hattie E Fletcher, 84 of Fulton rolled off Route Y, just past its intersection with Audrain County Road 116 and landed on its roof.

EMS crews responded to an accident at the intersection of Rt. Y and ACR 116, early afternoon, April 23.

Hattie Fletcher, and her passenger, Thomas F. Fletcher, 65, also of Fulton, were described by the Missouri State Highway Patrol as having moderate injuries.

The accident occurred as the Fletchers were heading west along Y. According to the Patrol’s report: “The crash occurred as the vehicle travelled off the left side of the roadway and overturned.” No cause was reported.

Both were transported by ambulance to University Hospital and Clinics.

Hattie Fletcher was wearing a safety device, Thomas Fletcher was not.

Firefighters from the Little Dixie Fire Department, Boone County Fire Protection District along with officers from the Audrain County Sheriff’s Department and the Missouri State Highway Patrol responded.
