We faced a very good pitcher in Bennet Stice, throws 88-90 mph.  Our guys did a great job of making him work for outs.  We had 6 hits on the night, Jack Romine collecting 3 of those.  Jackson Wells also reached base 2 times in the game. We took a 2-1 lead in fifth. They scored 2 in bottom of the 7th, the final score versus Palmyra was 3-2.

“Anytime we can get Romine on the bases I feel good about our chances.”

We took a 2-1 lead in the 5th.  In the bottom of the 7th they tied the game with a homerun and ended up winning a ground ball that went 15’.

“Tough loss for us, but Palmyra put the ball in play when they had to.”

Jackson Wells was an absolute beast on the mound, he went 6 innings collecting 9 k’s.  “Stice kid is good, but I believe we had the better pitcher that night in Wells.”

Tolton & California

“Our sophomores took care of the pitching v Tolton and the seniors took care of the bats.”  Ethan Adams and Mason Presley kept Tolton off balanced all day.  Kile Chitwood, Jackson Wells, Lane Mathews, & Logan West combined for 10 hits.

Jackson Wells led off the bottom of the 7th with a line drive into RF, Adam Hatton walked, and Lane Mathews laid down a perfect bunt which resulted in a walk off RBI for the win.

We had a 20 hits in that game.  The winning run was set up by Logan West laying down a bunt to load the bases for a walk off RBI walk by Mason Presley.

“We just weren’t going away in this game, our guys wanted the win”

Ethan Adams went 3-4 and Evan Bruns was 2-4 at the plate v California.

“It was a fun & long day of baseball against 2 very good teams.  We’re 12-7 at the moment and playing some very good team baseball.  Our seniors are doing all the right things and leading by example, we’re making the most of every moment.”
