I have noticed in my travels north of town a new thriving Amish Community. I am impressed with their well-kept homes, yards, barns, fields, crops and places of business.
Amish are known as hard workers that take pride in a job done well. This is not only done by human hands but also literal horse power!
Draft horses are massive, muscular and bred to work. As strong as each of these are individually, they almost always work in teams “yoked” together by straps and harnesses.
I have seen these teams move seemingly with ease the most massive logs, plow and prepare the hardest plot of ground for planting crops or pasture, cultivating and harvesting.
As strong as individual horses are, there are tasks or “obstacles” they can’t, or should not try to do by themselves. The decision on how many horses to use is decided by their handler.
In our lives problems, obstacles and difficulties occur. Sometimes these can be handled on our own, but other times we need help from others. Help may come from family, friends, clergy, doctors, and also the Lord.
