Rachel Linda Angle

Rachel Linda Angle, 75 of Centralia died Monday, April 22, 2024, at Stuart House.

A Life Celebration service will be held Monday, 12:00 PM on April 29, 2024, at the Sturgeon Christian Church with Pastor Craig Ritchie officiating.

Inurnment will follow the service at the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Jacksonville. A visitation will be held from 4:00-8:00 PM Sunday, April 28, 2024, at Fenton-Kendrick Funeral Home in Centralia.

Linda was born on June 5, 1948, in Mexico, MO the daughter of Raymond Leon “Chaney” and Ruby Lee (Stevinson) Barnes.

Linda was a graduate of Sturgeon High School. On October 21, 1967, Linda married Charles Earl Angle.

Linda is survived by her children, Kathy Hasekamp (David) of Centralia, son, Wayne Angle of Columbia; Grandchildren, Cody Hasekamp (Cassie) of Montgomery City, Sam Hasekamp (Courtney), Jenna Hasekamp, Seth Hasekamp, all of Centralia, Riddick Angle of Columbia, Trinity Angle of Pagosa Springs, CO; great-grandchildren Greysen Hasekamp of Montgomery City and Baby Hasekamp (Sam and Courtney) due October 2024; brothers Larry Barnes (Paula) of Moberly, Tom Barnes of Sturgeon, and Steve Barnes (Lynn) of Rolla; sisters-in-law Olivia Burnett Terry), Judsonia Ark and Karen Austin (Art) of Edwardsville, IL; many cousins, nieces and nephews. Linda was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Charles, sisters-in-law Virginia Bast and Ethel Swann; brother-in-law Ellis “Hank” Angle; and nephew Stephen Bast.

Linda and Charles lived in Sturgeon for over 40 years. During their time in Sturgeon, she was an active member of the Sturgeon Christian Church, including the Searchers women’s fellowship group. Linda volunteered in Sunday School and Vacation Bible School. She served on the church board as treasurer until fall of 2023.

Linda also volunteered with both the Girl and Boy Scouts. She was involved with the Sturgeon PTA, served as a school board member for Sturgeon schools for several years. In recent years, Linda volunteered at the Sturgeon Community Food Bank. Linda worked for over forty years for Shelter Insurance until her retirement in 2013. She enjoyed reading, knitting, and crocheting. She and Charles enjoyed gardening, following their grandkids sporting events and St Louis Cardinals baseball. They did quite a bit of traveling, seeing most of the continental US from the NE in the fall, out to the Rocky Mountains with several trips south to visit relatives, play snowbird a few years and Jupiter FL to watch spring training. They traveled to Hawaii where Linda met Charles on leave while he was serving in Vietnam about their first wedding anniversary. They truly enjoyed exploring throughout their lives.
