Ronald Flatt, 76 of Centralia passed away Wednesday, October 18, 2023, at the Stuart House in Centralia.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 AM Wednesday, October 25, 2023, at Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Centralia with burial to follow in the Centralia City Cemetery.
A visitation will be held from 3:00-8:00 PM Tuesday, October 24, 2023, at Fenton-Kendrick Funeral Home in Centralia. A Rosary will be recited at 2:45 PM Tuesday at the funeral home.
Ron was born on August 22, 1947, in Joliet, IL, the son of Donald Lloyd and Christine Marie (Ecimovich) Flatt.
On December 2, 1967, in Mexico, Ron married LaVerne Kappelmann and she survives of the home.
Along with his wife, LaVerne, Ron is survived by his daughters, Wendy Beard and husband Rick of Madison, and Missy England and husband Shad of Centralia; grandchildren, Jadon Flatt and wife Riley of Centralia, and Lexi England of Centralia; his brother, Don Flatt and wife Marceil of Centralia.
Ron was preceded in death by his son, Brian Flatt, his parents, and two sisters, Paula Flatt and Helen Snell.
Ron was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church. He was a lifetime member of the Corn Growers Association, the Soybean Association, and the NRA.
Ron served as a past board member of MFA and the biodiesel organization. Ron and LaVerne were charter members of the Centralia Young Farmers.
Ron enjoyed hunting, golfing, dancing, and snow skiing. His greatest passion was farming, he truly loved to farm and work the land.
Ron cherished his time spent with his family and loved them most of all. He also truly loved his dogs and the St. Louis Cardinals.
