September 24, Audrain, Boone, COVID-19 UPDATES

The health departments of Audrain and Boone County have issued updated Coronavirus data.

Audrain, as of September 24, has had 616 cases, 250 of which are active, 77 of those are long-term care cases associated with the Tri County Care Center.

Additionally, 288 of the positive cases are associated with Women’s Eastern Reception, Diagnostic and Correctional Center in Vandalia.

None are travel-related and all are due to community transmission. According to Sandra Hewlett, ACHD’s director, 361 of those who contracted the Coronavirus are fully recovered and Audrain County has had five deaths from the virus. According to a news release from her office, 8,960 people have been tested for COVID-19, with 8,344 testing negative, or virus-free.

The latest Boone County Department of Health and Senior Service data states: 4,423 recorded cases; 352 active cases; 4,063 of those who contracted the virus have been released from isolation and eight deaths.

As of September 24, Missouri has had 116,946 cases of Coronavirus, resulting in 1,947 deaths.
