September 29 Audrain, Boone County COVID-19 update

The health departments of Audrain and Boone County have issued updated Coronavirus data.

Audrain, as of September 29, has had 654 cases, 250 of which are active, 77 of those are long-term care cases associated with the Tri County Care Center.

Additionally, 249 of the positive cases are associated with Women’s Eastern Reception, Diagnostic and Correctional Center in Vandalia.

None are travel-related and all are due to community transmission. According to Sandra Hewlett, ACHD’s director, 399 of those who contracted the Coronavirus are fully recovered and Audrain County has had five deaths from the virus. According to a news release from her office, 9,636 people have been tested for COVID-19, with 8,982 testing negative, or virus-free.

The latest Boone County Department of Health and Senior Service data states: 4,707 recorded cases; 336 active cases; 4,359 of those who contracted the virus have been released from isolation and eight deaths.

As of September 29, Missouri has had 124,762 cases of Coronavirus, resulting in 2,086 deaths.
