Girls win 30-22; Boys lose 61-46
It was a sweet and sour Homecoming for the Sturgeon Bulldogs.
The Lady Bulldogs won their third game in a row, the boys lost their third game in a row.
Brooklyn Dougherty led the ladies with 11 points. Aydan Wilhite and Nicole Vanlandingham scored six each. Kathryn Dothage and Shelby Bailey scored four each.
Bethany Slovensky led Wellsville with nine.
It was a back and forth game, Wellsville led the first two quarters; 5-4 in the first and 10-6
in the second. Sturgeon took over in the second half, leading 23-16 in third and finished 30-22.
On the boys side, Sturgeon played with out senior standout Connor Morgan and never got on top of the Tigers.
Wellsville led 17-9 in the first, 33-24 in the second, 46-33 in the third and 61-46 in the fourth.
Logan Flaspohler led Sturgeon with 17 points. Jacob Smith scored 11, Jacob Brooks and Blake Darwent scored nine each.
Wellsville’s Ebers led his team and the game with 31.
Both Bulldogs teams play on the road, Saturday against Calgary Lutheran.
