Viola Verdine Rackley

Viola Verdine Rackley, 101, of Centralia, passed away at her home on Friday, January 6, 2023.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Friday, January 13, 2023 at Fenton-Kendrick Funeral Home in Centralia, with burial to follow in the Centralia City Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 PM Thursday, January 12, 2023, at the funeral home.

Viola was born on September 3, 1921, in Eminence, MO, the daughter of Charlie and Racie (Bunch).

On April 18, 1942, Viola married Daniel Rackley in Salem, MO, and he preceded her in death on March 13, 2002.

Viola is survived by her children, Shirley Westrup (Walter) of Davisville, MO, Donna Sue Hibbs (Ray) of Hallsville, Dennis Rackley of Hallsville, Ronnie Rackley (Cathy) of Centralia, Karen Stone (Donald) of Hallsville, Daniel Rackley (Marcia) of Columbia; grandchildren, Debbie Watkins (John), Tina Allen (Ronnie), Tonya Rackley, Mike Hibbs (Diane), Chris Rackley (Angie), Ryan Rackley, Aaron Jackson (Kelly), Jason Stone (Jessica), Nicole Jackson, Austin Stone, Heather Rackley; great-grandchildren, Victoria, Alyssa, Allyson, Caleb, Addyson, Cole, Tucker, Michele, Drew, Hannah, Daniel; great-great-grandchildren, Eric, Parker.

Along with her husband, Daniel, Viola was preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Christine Mead, Rittie Brawley, Lizzie Sieder, Rosalie Compton, Stella Farris, Charles Herren, John Herren, Tina Goforth.

Viola had an amazing green thumb, she used that in caring for her garden every year. She enjoyed fishing, and cooking, especially for her family, and she truly loved her Monday lunches with all of her family that came to see her.

Viola’s greatest joy in life was her family, she loved spending time with them. Viola was a kind soul, that cared for anyone in her life, she will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. Viola loved the Lord Jesus Christ. She read her bible every day and her faith in Him she lived out as an example to everyone she knew all her life.

Pallbearers will be Ryan Rackley, Aaron Jackson, Austin Stone, Nikki Jackson, Michael Hibbs, Chris Rackley, Honorary Pallbearers will be Tonya Rackley, Tucker Jackson, and Daniel Stone.

Memorial donations are suggested to the charity of the donor’s choice.
