Wendell “Butch” Lee Wright, 82, of Centralia passed away Monday, August 21, 2023 at his home.
Funeral services will be held 2:30 PM Friday, August 25, 2023 at Fenton-Kendrick Funeral Home in Centralia with burial to follow in the Glendale Memorial Gardens in Centralia.
Visitation will be held from 1:00 pm until the time of the service on Friday at the funeral home.
Wendell was born on September 8, 1940 in Boonville, the son of Clarence Lee and Bernice (Merhoff) Wright.
Wendell is survived by his partner June Smith of Centralia, his children, Michelle Wright Hathaway (Jeff) of Nashville, Robert Wright (Cherri) of Centralia, Sarah Shiflett (Bill) of Blue Eye, MO, Roanetta Rodgers (Bennie Necaise) of Troy, and Neva Wilkerson (Wallace) of Centralia; two brothers, Charlie Stidham of Centralia, and Wayne Stidham of Centralia; many grandchildren, great-granchildren, nieces ,nephews and friends.
Wendell was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Mary Ann Wright, his son, Terry Wright and his sister, Shirley Felton.
Wendell was a lifelong truck driver, working for many years driving for AB Chance, Wal-Mart and owned and operated his own truck, his CB Handle was Mickey Mouse.
He loved wood working, playing poker, fishing and buying and trading cars. Wendell always had a good time, and really enjoyed a good prank.
